I can still smell the White Castle that was in the town I grew up in, a suburb of Chicago. I briefly had a job there as a teenager. You would come home at 1:00 a.m., reeking of hamburgers and onions, but you could eat all the ice cream "mistakes" as a job benefit. So glad my career has evolved a lot since then!
When my mom didn’t feel like cooking she’d send me down the street to the White Castle on Northern Blvd in Jackson Heights to get a bag of sliders. It was my favorite food growing up. They made my stomach happy!
Yum Sliders! they don’t have these tasty burgers in Hawaii =(
When I was a wee kid, my parents would take my sister and me to White Castle and we’d order something like 30 hamburgers, 15 fries, and 4 Cokes. Always cracked me up and I always had to be the one to place the order. They were like 12 cents back then.
OTOH, not something our cardiologists want to know.
Just had them this evening for dinner… still tasty.
